    The rope is thick and supple with easy-to-grip handles. It is a perfect length for the sheath to lie flat on the floor, and you slide your foot gently inside the sock. The sheath is a semi-rigid plastic that holds its shape well, and holds the sock open, but is flexible enough to bend as you pull the sock over your heel. The disk of foam installed on the outside near the bottom edge of the sheath makes a lot of difference. It gently tugs to sock along the foot and up over the hell and then ankle. I use alpaca socks, and the sheath pulls them a little higher than the ankle before releasing the

    With my recent knee surgery, I found putting on a sock on my leg with a brace was almost impossible. Since I live on my own, I cannot tell you how frustrating this was. I tried using one of those extension grippers which after a while eventually got my sock stated on my foot, although still very frustrating. When found out I would have to wear the brace for the next 6 weeks, I thought I might was well get a sock aid.
